  2. Threading: Threaded plastic fittings are screwed onto matching threaded pipe. Thread sealant tape or paste is used to ensure a leak-proof seal. Care must be taken to avoid over-tightening and cracking the material.
  3. Mechanical Compression: The pipe is inserted into the fitting. A nut is tightened, compressing a ferrule or O-ring around the pipe, creating a strong mechanical seal that grips the pipe and prevents leakage.
  4. Fusion Welding: For PP, PVDF, and HDPE, a specialized welder heats the pipe end and fitting simultaneously to a precise melting point. The parts are then joined under pressure and held steady as they cool, forming a single, seamless piece of plastic with no need for adhesives.

This versatility in joining methods allows plastic fittings to be deployed in a huge range of permanent and semi-permanent applications, from simple DIY projects to complex industrial plants.
